Workshop Site

Workshop sessions will take place at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort, Vail, Colorado. While particularly famous for its outstanding skiing, Vail offers a full complement of summer recreational activities – including hiking, golfing, fishing, mountain climbing, horseback riding and swimming – just a short distance from the Resort. It is important to hydrate adequately for the high altitude.

Support For Selected Applicants

All accepted applicants will receive full scholarships. The Committee will seek a group of trainees who have made outstanding progress in their medical training, who have displayed an interest and competence in clinical neuroscience research, and who come from a diverse group of training institutions and personal backgrounds.

The 30-35 participants selected from this group will not be required to pay any registration fee for the Workshop. Accepted applicants will also receive complimentary coach airline tickets (With 30 day advanced purchase through a dedicated travel agency), airport shuttle transportation, hotel accomodations in Vail for the nights of August 16 through 22 inclusive, and complimentary meals or meal stipends throughout the Workshop. Participants will receive a $100 incidental travel stipend. Original, itemized receipts are mandatory to be eligible for reimbursement.

Guests: Expenses Not Covered by the Course

Any expense related to a guest, including ground travel and all guest meals are not covered. All guests of the course are required to register with the course administrator a minimum of sixty (60) days prior to the course. All charges related to a guest are the responsibility of the participant and will be applied to the hotel bill and must be paid before checking out of the hotel. Guests are welcome to join group meals, please contact the course administrator for a list of applicable charges. Please review the agenda and note the intensity of the time commitment. Participants are required to attend all lectures, protocol development sessions, and group meals. There is little free time to spend with your guest.

Hotel Accomodations

Reservations at the Vail Marriott® Mountain Resort & Spa will be arranged for all trainees. Trainees are required to stay for the entire duration of the course, August 16-22, 2010. Participants will be responsible for incidental expenses.

Transportation from Airport

Arrangements will be made for complimentary van transport, including gratuity, for Workshop participants between Denver International Airport and the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort on Monday, August 16 and again on Sunday morning August 22. Rental cars or mileage to and from the course are not a covered expense.
