Jaishri Blakeley, MD

Dr. Jaishri Blakeley specializes in the care of patients with tumors of the nervous system including both primary brain tumors and peripheral nerve tumors. Her research focuses on the development of clinical trials for these tumors and specifically, on translational studies including tumor pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic investigations.

Dr. Blakeley received her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 2001 and completed a year of internal medicine at Baylor prior to moving to the Johns Hopkins University for her residency in Neurology. She then completed a two year fellowship in Neuro-Oncology at Johns Hopkins. She is now an Assistant Professor in Neurology, Oncology and Neurosurgery and is Director of the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Neurofibromatosis Center (JHCNFC). She focuses her clinical efforts on the diagnosis and management of primary brain tumors in adults such as glioblastoma multiforme, anaplastic astrocytoma, anaplastic oligodendroglioma and low grade gliomas. In her role as director of JHCNFC she designs clinical trials for rare diseases such as vestibular schwannomas in patients with neurofibromatosis type II (NF2). She is a member of the Adult Brain Tumor Consortium and currently the national chairperson for two clinical trials for patients with malignant gliomas and 2 clinical trials for patients with NF2 associated vestibular schwannomas.
