Betsy Garafolo, MD
Dr. Betsy Garofalo is Vice President Therapeutic Area Lead for CNS and Pain at Astellas Pharmaceuticals and Adjunct Associate Professor
of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan. After receiving her MD from Indiana University she completed a residency in Pediatrics. She
received her Pediatric Neurology training at the University of Michigan following which she was an attending in pediatric epilepsy. Dr.
Garofalo joined Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research in 1992 and has been involved in trials in the areas of neurologic, analgesic and
psychiatric indications including pediatric development programs. She also spent 2 years in the regulatory affairs department. Her
experience ranges from early human experiments through global, pivotal proof of efficacy trials in adults and children. She has experience
in small, midsize and large pharmaceutical companies.
