Elise Kayson, MS, RNC, ANP
Elise Kayson, MS, RNC is a Senior Associate in Neurology and Director of Clinical
Project Management for the Clinical Trials Coordination Center (CTCC) in the Center
for Human Experimental Therapeutics (CHET) at the University of Rochester Medical
Center, Rochester, New York. She has her Masters in Nursing from the University
of Rochester School of Nursing and is a licensed Nurse Practitioner with an active
collaborative practice of Huntington and Parkinson disease patients in the Department
of Neurology’s Movement and Inherited Neurological Disorders Unit. She has more than
20 years experience in pharmaceutical based research both commercial and academic.
Prior to working at the University she was employed by Fisons Corporation for 6
years as a senior project manager. Ms Kayson has served as the Senior Project Manager
for numerous clinical studies most notably the first prospective observational studies
in individuals at-risk for Huntington disease. She has also participated on the
steering committees for a number of Huntington and Parkinson disease trials and
is a member of the Huntington Study Group Executive Committee. She is the principal
investigator for a program called Project AWARE to Improve Awareness, Willingness
and Ability for Research and Enrollment in Clinical Research. She has a primary
interest in clinical trial design and assessment tools, recruitment strategies locally
and internationally, and the informed consent process.
